Ex-MOE tutors hold a premium rate in the tuition industry. Hiring a regular private ex-MOE tutor can cost close to $100 an hour in 2023. The fees are even higher for certain teachers who held appointments such as HODs and senior teachers. This is also why many other tuition centers employ non-teachers as tutors to keep their operating cost lower.
